Energy in Your Body: Energy, Self-Awareness & Self-Management

Dear Friend,

Have you ever heard the expression “good vibes only”? What does this mean to you?

Elbert Einstein said, “Everything in life is vibration.” What do you think he meant by this?

A vibration is a state of being, the atmosphere, or the energetic quality of a person, place, thought, or thing. Therefore, everything in life is composed of molecules vibrating at different speeds.

Earlier in the year, we wrote about brain waves and the five states (gamma, beta, alpha, theta, and delta) in which they vibrate and how this range of vibration affects our state of mind.

Self-awareness is understanding one’s emotions, thoughts, and values and how they influence behavior in different situations. Self-management is effectively managing one’s emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in various situations.

By combining these concepts, we make choices that support our needs. When we notice the frequency and energetic vibration we live in, we can change our vibration and shift our mindset. Good thoughts, good words, and good actions hold a higher frequency. When we lift our frequency, we lift our energy and begin to notice that like attracts like. The energy in our environment shifts and lifts!

Mindfulness Activity of the Week

Good Vibes Only

The higher the frequency, the lighter you feel in your emotional, physical, mental, and inner self. You experience greater personal power, clarity, peace, love, and joy, and your relationship with yourself and others thrive.

Using a pad of sticky notes, build a practice of daily “Good Vibes Only” affirmations. Start by writing 7-10 affirmations you can use throughout the following week. You can place your sticky notes anywhere. They will serve as mini mindset shift reminders in your notebook, locker, bedroom, or on the bathroom mirror.

Movement Activity of the Week

Chair

Chair pose can help you feel strong, powerful, and energized because you are engaging some of the largest muscle groups in your body – your quads and your glutes. With your arms stretched tall overhead, you stretch your back, shoulders, and chest while at the same time opening up your heart and lungs. This pose also stimulates blood flow and oxygenation throughout the body.
