Calm the Butterflies – Hard Things

Dear Friend,

Awake

“We can do hard things” has been a catchy phrase over the past few years thanks to the author Glennon Doyle. She is not wrong, and it is an absolute fact. We can do whatever we set our minds to. But it’s all really up to us and what we believe to be true about ourselves. Our mind believes what we tell it. If you make claims about yourself that are untrue, your mind will believe you. Whether we claim to be a victim who has been wronged, cheated, or hurt in some way, this is what we believe. In contrast, if we think we are strong, successful, and can manifest what we put our minds to, this becomes our reality.

Aware

Could you check in with your thoughts and the story you are telling yourself? What is false, made up, or the truth? Your mind is listening. Your mind only knows what you tell it, whether it is fact or fiction. Maybe it is what someone else said about you, or a past failure that is dictating your future. Your mind has the power to bring your thoughts to life. Myelin, the outer layer that makes your neurons more efficient, is like a muscle that gets stronger with your attention. When we deepen the neural pathways and strengthen the connections between thoughts, it becomes all we know, and it becomes our default mechanism.

Align

For us to align with difficult things, we first have to see it, then we have to believe it, then we have to know it, and then we have to practice it and feel it as if it has already happened. Clarity of what you are trying to achieve comes first. Making our hard things achievable is also key to their manifestation. To believe it is to know it is possible for you. Then you get to live like it has already happened. This takes practice. Your words, actions, and the way you operate are as if the hard things have already been achieved. The sensations you feel, your character, and how you vibrate operate at the same frequency as that hard thing. This is how we attract it.

Activate

If our clarity supports our manifestation, can we open ourselves to all that we desire? Clarity emerges from the depth of our experience, and our expertise grows from the depth of our senses. So, when you are attempting difficult things, let your senses open up and develop. What does your vision look like, and what do you look like with this new evolution of yourself? Positive words, mental chatter, and all that you surround yourself with become your reality. Is there a metaphor or an actual flavor to your accomplishment? Can you smell success? Is there finesse in your touch and a swagger in your stride as you step into this new future? What can you activate and manifest? Focus your attention there and see what happens!
