Energy in Your Body: Honoring our Veterans

Dear Friend,

We’re taking a moment to express gratitude this Veterans Day. It’s a significant day in the United States, where we pay homage to those who’ve served and continue to serve – our past, present, and future service members. This year, we’re celebrating under the theme “A Legacy of Loyalty and Service”.

Last week, we found inspiration in Mary T. Lathrap’s poem, an eloquent reminder to practice stepping into another’s shoes and foster a mindset of empathy, gratitude, appreciation, understanding, and compassion.

We’re thankful for the opportunity to reflect on this, especially as we honor our Veterans, and wonder, how did your practice go? Did you find it transformative, or did it present challenges? Remember, it’s a continual journey, and you’re not alone in navigating its twists and turns. With heartfelt gratitude, let’s explore how we can further engage.

Mindfulness Activity of the Week

Energy as a Source of Good

Energy is at the core of our being, influencing everything within us and around us. Being socially aware enables us to appreciate different perspectives and empathize with others, including those from diverse backgrounds, cultures, contexts, and experiences. When channeled effectively, our energy can be a source of positivity for ourselves and others.

Consider the following questions:

  1. Can you identify strengths in others that you may not have noticed, honored, or celebrated before?
  2. Are you willing to support someone with values that differ from yours?
  3. What steps will you take to shine brightly and share your light with the world?

Take some time to reflect and journal your thoughts.
